Conditions of Entry

NOMINATIONS TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF ENTRY

The Australian Women in Music Awards (“AWMA”) is an initiative of Australian Women in Music (“AWM”).

By electing to participate in the AWMA by:

  1. being nominated to receive an Award (“Nominee”); or
  2. nominating a person to receive an Award (“Nominator”),

you agree to be bound by the Terms and Conditions of Entry as set out below.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

  1. The eligibility requirements to be nominated for an Award are as follows:
    1. A Nominee must be nominated by another individual or an organisation. Nominees are not permitted to nominate themselves.
    2. A Nominee must comply with any eligibility criteria published by AWM for the relevant Award, as may be updated or varied by AWM at any time. If a person does not satisfy all of the eligibility criteria, they will not be eligible to be a Nominee for the relevant Award.
    3. A Nominee must be:
      1. over the age of 18; and
      2. an Australian citizens or Australian permanent resident.
  2. AWM may, at its discretion, request that a person provide proof of age and citizenship or residency status.
    1. An individual may be nominated in no more than 2 (two) award categories. Each nomination for an award category must be made separately by the Nominator and include its own specific supporting material that is required for the relevant category.
    2. A person who is identified as a patron of AWM is eligible to be a Nominee if they otherwise satisfy the eligibility criteria for the relevant Award.
    3. A person that has sponsored an Award (or is employed or engaged by an organisation that has sponsored an Award) is not eligible to be a Nominee for that Award. This does not prevent such a person from being a Nominee for any other Award.
    4. The following persons are not eligible to be a Nominee for any award category: the Juror Chair, Juror Council Members; AWM Board Directors and any employees, subcontractors, suppliers, or other personnel providing any services or support to the AWMA.

Unless otherwise agreed in writing by AWM:

  1. a nomination may only be made prior to the date and time specified in these Terms and Conditions of Entry; and
  2. all nominations must be submitted online at www.womeninmusicawards.com.au.

Please check the Award Categories carefully for the most relevant award for each nomination.

AWARDS TIMELINE

Unless otherwise notified by AWM, the AWMA will be conducted in accordance with the following timeframes:

Nominations Open: 22 April 2025
Nominations Close: 11:59pm AEST on 30 May 2025
Finalists Announced: 29 July 2025
Program Announced/Tickets On Sale: August 2025
Winners Announced at the Award Ceremony: 9 October 2025

The timeframes set out above are subject to change by AWM in its sole discretion. If AWM elects to change any of the above timeframes, it will publish the revised timeframes on its website.

ANNOUNCEMENTS

The recipient of each Award will be announced at the Awards Ceremony.

PERSONAL INFORMATION

Your personal information (including but not limited to your name, image, likeness, and other personal details) will be collected, stored, and used by AWM in connection with the AWMA, including for the purpose of:

  1. carrying on the AWMA, the Awards Ceremony and Conference Program;
  2. enabling the Juror Council to judge each of the Awards and select the shortlisted Nominees and recipient for each Award.

You acknowledge and agree that:

  1. AWM may, at its discretion, disclose your personal information (including any Materials provided by you) to any public authority (including the State of Queensland) or media organisation for any purpose in connection with the AWMA;
  2. AWM may, at its discretion, use and disclose your name and image in connection with any reporting on, or promotion of, the AWMA, the Awards Ceremony, the Conference Program, or the Awards, including but not limited to inclusion in the Awards Souvenir Program booklet, marketing and promotional materials for the AWMA, and any other publications on AWM’s websites and social media channels;
  3. AWM will not publish or disclose the personal contact details of any Nominee and Nominator to any third party, except for any third party engaged by AWM in connection with the AWMA or that is otherwise affiliated with the AWMA; and
    all Materials submitted you (or any Nominator or Nominee) shall become the property of AWM and will not be returned by AWM unless otherwise agreed in writing by AWM.

PUBLICITY & PROMOTION

  1. If requested by AWM, you agree to participate in any marketing, promotional, or publicity events in connection with the AWMA or the Awards Ceremony. You will be responsible for your costs in relation to participating in any marketing, promotional, or publicity events.
  2. You acknowledge and agree that the name, likeness, and image of each Nominee and recipient of an Award, as well as any photos, materials and statements supporting any nomination (except for personal contact information) may be copied, reproduced, or otherwise used in all online and print advertising including social media channels and press releases related to the Awards, as part of the Awards Ceremony itself and also in relation to the AWMA in any future year (for example in the course of profiling past winners and nominees).

INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

You acknowledge and agree that:

  1. the nomination form submitted for any Nominee (and any material contained in the nomination form or other supporting information provided to AWM) (“Materials”) is not of a confidential nature and you permit the disclosure of such information by AWM as it considers appropriate (subject to all applicable privacy laws);
  2. AWM is granted an irrevocable, perpetual, royalty-free, non-exclusive, transferrable, sub-licensable license to edit, amend, copy, reproduce, use, publish, and communicate to the public, in full part, the Materials; and
  3. you will not make any claim against AWM arising out of, or in connection with, the use of the Materials by AWM in accordance with the terms of these Terms and conditions of Entry, including but not limited to in relation to any moral rights that you may have in the Materials; and
  4. you will indemnify AWM against, and hold AWM harmless from, all loss, damages, costs, expenses, and claims by third parties arising from, or in connection with, any breach of any warranty in these Terms and Conditions of Entry.
  5. You warrant that AWM’s use of the Materials in accordance with these Terms and Conditions of Entry will not infringe the intellectual property rights or other rights of any third party and that, if applicable, you have obtained all necessary authorisations and consents for AWM’s use of the Materials in accordance with these Terms and Conditions of Entry.

PRIZES

Each recipient of an Award will:

  1. be recognised at the Awards Ceremony in Meanjin/Brisbane; and
  2. will receive an Australian designed hand-crafted trophy and any other prizes that may be applicable to the relevant Award (“Prizes”).

You acknowledge and agree that the Prizes are subject to change at any time, as determined by AWM in its sole and absolute discretion.

COSTS

Each Nominator and Nominee is entirely responsible for their own costs in connection with their participation in the AWMA and the performance of any obligation under these Terms and Conditions of Entry, including but not limited to travel and accommodation costs associated with attendance at the Awards Ceremony and Conference Program. Without limiting the foregoing, AWM may, at its sole discretion and only for those Nominees that are shortlisted for an Award, elect to cover the cost of flights and accommodation to attend the Awards Ceremony if a shortlisted Nominee does not reside in the town or city in which the Awards Ceremony is being held.
Nominees that are shortlisted for an Award will receive two (2) complimentary ticket to the Awards Ceremony. If a Nominee is shortlisted for more than one Award, they will be entitled to receive two (2) complimentary tickets for each shortlisted nomination.

VARIATION

You acknowledge and agree that AWM may amend or vary these Terms and Conditions of Entry without prior notice to you or any other person (including any Nominator or Nominee), including but not limited in respect of:

    1. the criteria for any Award;
    2. the cancellation or withdrawal of any Award; or
    3. the inclusion of any further Award and/or any change to the title or Prizes offered in relation to any Award,

if AWM considers it reasonably appropriate or desirable to do so.

If AWM elects to amend or vary these Terms and Conditions of Entry, it will publish the revised Terms and Conditions of Entry on its website. AWM shall not be liable to you (or any Nominator or Nominee) for any amendment or variation to these Terms and Conditions of Entry.
It is recommended that you (and any Nominee or Nominator) keep up-to-date on any changes to the AWMA or these Terms and Conditions of Entry.

CANCELLATION

Notwithstanding any other term of these Terms and Conditions of Entry, AWM may, at any time and at its sole discretion, postpone or cancel:

  1. the Awards;
  2. the Conference Program;
  3. the Awards Ceremony; or
  4. the AWMA in its entirety.

AWM shall not be liable to you (or any Nominator or Nominee) in connection with any postponement or cancellation of the Awards, the Awards Ceremony, the Conference Program, or the AWMA.
